A selection of Roy's latest work...
Following several holidays in the Midi region of France, Roy Thomas, a painter who was born in London, discovered the cultural and artistic delights of the medieval city of Mirepoix and for the past twelve years he has
returned regularly to his adopted home. For thirty seven years he has wielded his brush with consummate skill. Self-taught, he turns his flashes of inspiration into works of art full of life and colour.
He paints with oils as well as acrylic and has a remarkable way with collage. Lino printing holds no secrets for him. The visitor to this exhibition will appreciate his figurative paintings. Roy Thomas admits that he has been inspired by Vermeer and Ingres.
His portrayal of the famous French film actress Marion Cotillard in particular draws the public's attention – so lifelike, it looks as though she will step out of the frame at any moment!
